1. One of my favs -- I own the dvd |
|
The very end, with the voiceover, especially when he's in the river fishing, always makes me sob.
We could watch it together and sob, b-word... what channel is it on?

3. Why is this movie on a "womens' channel" |
|
The movie is all about Father-Son-Brother relationships.
Not that women don't get it - they do (probably better than men do) but still, I find it interesting it's on a Women's Channel.

10. Yup... my Dad and BIL think it's boring |
|
But, me, my Mom, sister, and 14-year-old niece all love it. I think my nephew likes it... maybe he's gay.

Then. I remember the fishing, the closeness to the land. nature's God all around you. It is onee of this guys favorite movies.
But, when I am alone in the half-light of the canyon all existence seems to fade to a being with my soul and memories of the Big Blackfoot river and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise.
The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On the rocks are timeless raindrops beneath the rocks are the words and some of the words are theirs
I am haunted by waters...

The last lines of the novella? It makes me tingle inside -- every time I read it or hear Redford speak it, it touches me...

It seems to be ok. I have it on DVD, but I still laugh at it even when it is cut.
