Hello. How long before I get over this depression? (Not a health thread)
I need a job. I'm close to getting one. I will need something like ritalin to help me concentrate at work (I know this from experience) but it causes anxiety, for which I'm already on something.

I'm mourning my Grandma.

Mrs. V. - well, I haven't seen her for a week, except for about 2 hours on Friday, and I won't see her again until a week from today.

I have too many non-fixed outdoor cats and they'll remain that way until (1) I can get my traps back from the deadbeat who borrowed them and won't return my calls and (2) I can afford it. Cats multiply.

:banghead:

It's completely situational depression. But GAWD.

Wanh!

3. Remember to take care of yourself when you feel like this...
...remember to eat right...sleep well...that kind of thing.

I'm so good at dispensing this kind of advice, but I slip into self-destruction, myself, when I feel depressed. It's just the easiest thing to do. Please don't do that...ok?

4. Bertha
First off -

Right now, most everything is beyond your control. Find something, anything that you *can* control until these issues resolve in their time.

I hope your job search ends soon. Very soon. I think the reason it hasn't was because your grandmother was going to pass away. Everything seems to happen for a reason. Sometimes that helps me get through things, other times, it just makes me angrier.

:(

Take care and PM me if you need to talk. I'm finally being treated for PTSD, BTW. Thanks for encouraging me to get help.

5. It's only been a week or two, honey.
You'll start to feel better someday. It just takes time to heal and I don't think it can be rushed.

As for your cat problem, is there an animal rescue service that will help you trap the cats and maybe even kick in on getting them fixed? It sounds like you're willing to provide the home.

6. If you are anything like me it may not be till after the winter solstice
when the days start to lengthen again. Everything seems sort of overwhelming starting in mid to late November (darkness, cold, holidays etc) and having real grief to deal with must be awful. I hope you feel better in spite of everything. It will get lighter - and I don't mean just the daylight.

8. Please tell me
what that means.

I got the following message from my cousin in April, 2004: "Mercury is retrograde so don't be surprised if we fail miserably in communicating with each other!"

I hadn't seen my cousin in years. We were meeting in DC the next day. I couldn't understand what I had done wrong. It upset me so much I almost cried.

Of course, when we met all was well so I never brought it up but I still wonder about it.

14. Oooh dear..

I'm sorry that upset you, I don't know why she would attribute that much to it in such an unusual situation. Every person is different, and of course these things are very personal. Here's the info posted in the Astrology group:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

We (husband and I) have just had some very emotional and upset problems for the last week; and I myself was very depressed for awhile (for me, a long time to be depressed is several days, sorry if that seems flippant). I see this kind of thing as part of our natural world which we can choose to work with and understand, but our free will always trumps all. It's just good to be aware of things.

I hope you feel better.

is gone. You have enough to deal with without that grey weight on you too.

12. I'm sorry, bertha
this time of year - the days getting much shorter - added to the grief and frustration you are already experiencing, must be very difficult indeed.

Hang in there.
