10. Update.....

the police came.....they liked my apartment.....

they listened to the call, said it sounded computer generated, like it came from somebody's computer.
they told me what I could do in the future, if I get any more. Said it was more an ultimatum that an out and out threat. I kinda figured that, but any kooky call should be reported.

They asked me what I even wrote, I said I don't remember quite verbatim, but it was in response to an editor's claim that calling a woman a bitch is sometimes a humourous thing, I responded that in this particular case it wasn't very humourous, etc. I was very tired and told them I didn't remember verbatim.

They were nice but there wasn't too much they could do. That's cool I guess.

How come I always get into trouble when I stand up for my opinions? :evilgrin:
oh well, nobody expects this shy little gal to be so opinionated. :)

XXXX's diatribe against "shrill feminists" (Double-standard on B-words, Nov. 2) is rather funny. I'm just curious, how does he "know" that those objecting to Norman Spector's name-calling are feminists? Of course, non-feminists couldn't possibly be outraged by yet another childish conservative man calling a grown woman a name that was obviously meant to be derogatory and not funny.

I guess the conservatives will just never understand that large and growing gender gap. Just get with it, gals, name-calling is no big deal anymore! And don't be shrill, we never are.

You don't need to go out brandishing guns or knives, but just keep your doors locked and keep the police informed, if this ever happens again. As for me, I have a baseball bat, since I am absolutely in favor of gun control, despite having been a member of the NRA and a former sharpshooter. Guns are dangerous, in the wrong hands and this makes me feel safer. I also have two fierce eight-pound guard dogs... ;) :pals:

24. Thanks, my friend. I was just a little worried about that, is all.

I am really a former sharpshooter and I know about guns. They can do real damage, in the wrong hands, since most people don't know how to use them. Unless you're trained, this can backfire, big time. Despite having used guns, they do really scare me, since a gun, used in panic, is not the right weapon. I would feel more comfortable with most any other weapon. A baseball bat came to mind, since that really is safer. As for my dogs, they may be tiny, but they are fierce. ;)
