37. The worst one I ever saw was some poor guy who was offended by some posts,

didn't understand why they weren't locked and took obvious exception to them. He accused the mods of being bigots, over and over, using lots of angry emoticons, must have taken him ages to write it. I was just going to correct him, since he spelled the word "bigots" as "biggots," many times, when it disappeared... I guess I wasn't thinking straight, since this was an "alert" moment, if there ever was one, but I have only done this three times, ever, in my time on DU. Guess I'm a liberal...:-)

If you want to leave DU, just go. I take breaks every now and then. It's not personal, but sometimes, I need to take a break from what is happening in politics. It's what I do, but I certainly don't make some big dramatic nonsense over it. I may say "bye for a short time while I ...a...b...c...", if even that. But all this drama while making your exit? Please. :eyes:

43. I had computer problems and didn't log on for six weeks.

I suspected that it would be a time before I could log in again. I didn't start a thread about leaving-I just left and figured I'd be back sooner or later.

A couple of DUer's started threads about me (which was nice) and I spoke to one on yahoo when I was able to log in for a few minutes. But for the most part it wasn't that big of a deal.

Next time I need to leave for a bit I'll contact a couple of people and let them know but will keep in touch so they don't worry.
