Tuesday I am meeting my SO's mom in person
She's gonna be staying on our couch for a week, :D. I talk to her online all the time so I'm not too nervous. I went out and bought a new pillow and some PJ's for her, and I'm gonna be cleaning and cooking all day tomorrow! This is exciting, :). My SO has met my mom and loves her, and so far I love his mama- and I'm sure she will be as great in person as I expect her to be. I feel pretty blessed. :)
Just had to share. ;)

4. Usually with people I know,
it's "Well, we have a lot of '_____'"

Which lately has been a whole lot of nothing in the psychedelic dept. x(

8. Oh, well
At least it made me think of a film to put in my Netflix queue: "The Panic in Needle Park."

Crap. It's not gonna be released until April 7. x(

Oh, well — birthday present.

She wants to travel extra light, and asked me if she could wear some of mine- I told her yes and went and bought some for her- kind of like an early Xmas thing :7

14. New pjs bring in the best fun - the sleep is so comfortable.
And maybe the two of you could have a slumber party night - bring out the food , drinks and snacks and get to know each other. Have fun :)

10. My Partner's Mom
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 05:12 AM by querelle
My Gawd she was awful to me in the beginning. Absolutely hated me for seducing her poor little son into a life of gay debauchery. Never mind the fact that it was him that seduced me in the first place. Anyway..........fastforward three years. She actually loves me now more than her own son (heh heh heh). We have much in common and always get together for coffee or drinks without the SO. She is actually pressuring me to propose to him! Here in Canada, gays can marry but I just dunno if I want to take that step just yet. BTW, my own mother doesn't like my SO. Thinks he is a shallow little excuse for a man. Her words. Not mine. Mom absolutely loved my ex and thought we were perfect together. Well, Mom never had to live with the cheating lying bastard.

Aren't in-laws fun?

12. Some are good and some are awful
We are always really awkward around my SO's dad and his dad's wife- but I talk to his mom all the time- he likes my Mom a lot but is not too crazy about my mom's b/f or my dad. Hopefully in the future it will be great to see any of them!

 I hope your mom changes her mind about your SO.

17. She Will
change her mind once she gets to know him. Mom is still hung up on my ex, who she still meets for coffee dates from time to time. I don't mind. But she always tells me that he's rich, has a nice house, a beautiful car, etc.....

I need more than that. The house and the car were nice, but not enough to keep me. My current SO is poor as a church mouse and I love him so much. He's my man......

13. At least you have a choice....
I'm so glad you have the choice of saying "I just dunno if I want to take that step just yet". That's the first time of heard that. Refreshing.

16. Oh I Probably Will........
I've been drawn to jewelery stores lately for some reason. Lookin for a nice diamond for my sweety. Maybe. Let's give it another year before I take the big jump. He's 13 years younger than I am (I'm 45, he's 32). I need some time before I commit to him completely.

21. Butting in to say...that is gorgeous!
Is it brushed? the reason I ask is that my wedding set started out as brushed, and I used to get it "rebrushed" every year and then I just gave up. If I had known the brushed look would wear off so quickly I might have gone another way. But I do love the way it looks. I say...buy that ring!

19. Yaaay! I hope it goes really well!
I'm not so lucky, but my father loves my husband, and my father in law spoiled the dickens out of me when he was alive. The moms? Not so much. Although my mother loves MrG quite a bit more than me... My mother in law? I stole her baby from her. :D :hi: Have a GREAT time!

22. I met my fiancees dad at dinner at her place...
He was sitting at the table and she introduces me... he looks over at her and in a booming voice says "IS HE A FUCKIN' REPUBLICAN?!?!?!?" As I gulped in fear then broke out laughing, she glanced over at me with that beautiful smile and said "That's my dad!"

Sounds like meeting your SO's mom will be fun! Enjoy!
