I don't think this kid is going to come out any time soon.
I know, my due date isn't actually until weds. but I am sore, uncomfortable, I only sleep in one hour blocks, and she keeps hitting me down south. Damn does that hurt! I can't tell you anymore of my complaints, because I'm afraid it will fall under "bodily functions" and the thread will get locked. ARGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Just needed to rant. I have really got to stop complaining, I feel like a wuss. x(

1. Are you at the point where your hips feel like they're going to come
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 09:23 AM by MrsGrumpy
completely unhinged with every step you take?... And like your bottom could drop out at any moment? ... and like the child is doing rapid head spins on your cerivix? Good times! I miss them in hindsight.  Complain all you want for here there is sympathy. If I were there I'd even jam my fists into the small of your back for counterpressure (I made MrG do that all the time). It will all be over soon, sweetie, and we will rejoice with you. :loveya:

5. Thankyou Mrs. G
that is exactly what I feel like, my hips have felt like that for weeks now, and so hasn't my bottom. My hubbie does the same thing for me too, he's so good. I have been placed on semi-bed rest, because of my blood pressure, and the water retention going on in my feet and legs.... Thankyou for the words of encouragement!

me, they'd always say: "Didn't you have that baby yet?". I felt like saying back "What do you think, asshole?" :grr:

we worked together, so now all of our regular customers keep asking him "has your wife had that baby yet?" LOL, I told him he'll have to blow up a big pic of the babe when she comes and put it in one of the large windows at the store!

tape a tennis ball to the back of your PJs and lie down on that. It really works if your husband isn't home, (as mine wasn't until I actually went to the hospital)

25. I'll do what I can!
Seriously, though... I was put to bed six weeks before my third and last child was born... several nights spent in the hospital for premature labor at various times during those weeks. I didn't sleep except when in the hospital, so I almost looked forward to it... Anyhow, the epidural failed mid-labor and I was cool with it. The needle was repositioned and then it failed again just before the episiotomy, and I was cool with that too. Just get this little monster out of me, was my thought. It turns out he was a little monster, too :) and I love him. Best of luck, my friend.

19. It's cliched to say "hang in there", but it really helps -
at this stage of pregnancy. Try to take some time to do something nice for yourself, even if it's just getting into as comfortable a position as possible and reading a book or magazine. Enjoy the relative quiet and peace before those first chaotic weeks with a newborn.

But I'll think some "easy labor, soon!" vibes for you.

And I don't think I was as uncomfortable as you sound, even at the end. Hang in there, you're on the cusp of the most amazing, wonderful experience of your life. Labor won't seem so bad, when you've been so uncomfortable in the days leading up to it, and being able to bend over again is SO nice!

36. If you think you're not getting any sleep now, wait until
she's born.

For your sake I hope she's one of those relatively quiet angelic babies who needs a lot of sleep. Mine never slept for more than a few minutes at a time, wanted to be held constantly, and didn't sleep through the night until she was four years old. I love her to pieces (she's 13 now) but I wouldn't relive those days for anything!

Good luck to you both. Being a new parent is quite an adventure.

Never having gone this route myself, I can't give any advice. But lucky you--you get to have a November baby! November babies are the coolest, if you ask me. (I mean, I guess there's always a chance that your baby won't come out for a really long time, but...let's not think about that given your current state.)

It'll all be over soon and your little bundle of joy will make you forget all about that. Until then, hugs to you and listen to the advise of some of the other Mom's on here. It's been a lifetime ago(27 yrs) since I last had a baby and I'm afraid I've forgotten any techniques to remain comfortable those last days.

We'll all be waiting to hear about her arrival.
