WILMINGTON, Del. -- A Delaware judge has ordered a man convicted of repeatedly exposing himself to a 10-year-old girl to wear a T-shirt with the words, "I am a registered sex offender."
Russell Teeter, 69, was also sentenced to two months in jail.
Teeter has more than 10 convictions, dating back to 1976, and has been through treatment for being a compulsive exhibitionist.
That led Deputy Attorney General Donald Robert to suggest the T-shirt, and Superior Court Judge Jan Jurden thought it was a good idea.
Roberts said maybe the shirt and jail time will teach Teeter "to keep his zipper up."
Teeter will have to provide and wear the shirt when he's working at his horticulture business outside Newark for 22 months after he gets out of jail.
