Working for Oracle? Bad? Good? Please share your thoughts . . .
I have an opportunity to work for Oracle, but I’m not too keen on doing so, as all I seem to hear about the company is negative.
:dilemma:

Anybody out there with Oracle? Past employee? What are/were your experiences?

Thanks for the info! :hi:

1. Beware of accounting irregularities
Larry and the guys like to cook the books to look good to Wall Street. He's on a first name basis with many of the SEC regulators.

3. Services or Support?
They're the world's biggest and most successful software company and they are buying up their competitors and taking over the market vertically. They're top dog so no one is ever going to devour them. Very successful, pay great (except in India), and great future prospects. The downside is they're a very conservative company, or so it seems (but aren't they all?).

Few people know that the original Oracle database had its genesis in a secret project paid for by the CIA. The three founders created a new relational database and were allowed to keep the code base and use it start their own company. Its the best in the world and used by all big corporations, and Big Brother as well, of course. Larry Ellison, CEO, has the record for highest compensated executive ever: he earned $750 million one year during the height of the tech boom.
