Singer recovers from breast cancer

LONDON -
Marianne Faithfull has made a full recovery from breast cancer and plans to resume a postponed world tour, her spokesman said Monday.

Faithfull, a 1960s icon who once date Mick Jagger, canceled her tour dates in September after being diagnosed with early stage breast cancer.

Spokesman Rob Partridge said Faithfull, 59, had undergone surgery and was making "a rapid return to full health."

"Marianne Faithfull has made such a successful recovery from breast cancer that doctors have given the go-ahead for her to resume touring commitments in spring next year," he said.

He said the singer would begin her tour of Europe and North America in Budapest, Hungary, in March.
