There are customers who need to be beaten, and we're not allowed to
Today's Customer of the Day comes courtesy of my wife.

She went to work today (she works at the same store I do, just at the other end of it) and the electrical department was full of customers with one associate to help them all. So she's there answering electrical questions.

The last customer she helped wanted some speaker wire. My wife measured the wire out and brought the cutter blade around to chop the wire off. This thing takes a serious pull to make it cut. Well...at the very instant she started to chop, the customer decided to "help" by pulling the wire taut from the spool end. What he managed to do was to pull one of her knuckles right into the path of the blade, which caused her to remove all of the meat and part of the bone on her knuckle. (When I heard about it, I had the same reaction.)

Four stitches and a tetanus shot later and she's reasonably intact again. Sick to her stomach from the pain, but at least not dripping blood all over the floors. They're keeping her in the training room with someone near her until 6pm to make sure she's okay, then sending her home.

The store manager informed the offending customer that we need no more of his money.

7. Best to the missus--and kudos big time to the store manager.
Like Southwest Airlines says, customers come SECOND.
