23. I started getting gray hair before I hit 19 years old.
My mother was almost totally silver on top by the time I was born. She was 21 at the time. By the time I hit my terrible two's, she was buying dye in bulk. I don't know why it runs in our family to get gray so early.

27. I got my first gray hair at 23.
I remember it very well. I immediately pulled it. A couple of months later, I had three or four. After that, twenty or thirty. According to my hairdresser, I am now 70% gray (I'm 43) but in no way, shape, or form ready to go gray, so I keep it covered. :)

63. Same here. The first one I noticed, anyway.
I mentioned it to my hairdresser at the time, and she said "You've had a patch of white hair in the back of your head as long as I've been cutting your hair. I didn't believe her, but she showed me, and sure enough. There's a birthmark on my scalp on the back of my head about the size of a nickel, and all the hair there had turned solid white. I'm 34, now, and have quite a bit of gray that I dye to cover up.

Dyed my hair 'Medium ash Blonde' because the pic looked right. Hair turned green... washed hair 10 times in a row. Ended up with damaged slightly green hair and haven't dyed it since.

Now, at 42, I get complements on my hair at least 3-4 times a month. Platinum silver and blonde/red.

Yes, I am, and I like it! My grandmother went gray in her 20s, my mom in her 30s. It can look distinguished, and I prefer my gray genes to baldness genes.

It probably goes without saying that I'm a guy...

50. I'm 23 and just found one the other day
I've noticed maybe two or three before; I was probably 21 when I noticed my first grey hair. I actually don't mind how they look all that much; I have light brown hair so they blend in fairly well. The one I found the other day was one of the longest hairs on my head, so I had gone about ten months without noticing it! The texture of them is quite different than the other hairs on my head, though.

51. I thought I found one a few weeks ago,
ask any and everyone I could if it was a gray hair. Guess it wasn't/isn't since everyone laughed and said it wasn't. I guess I will know if I have gray when my hair is 50% or more gray. BTW I am a natural blond and that is why people laughed and swear it is as blond as the rest. I thought it looked more gray and was a tad thicker. So 46 and still no gray. I could really care less about gray hair but please let me inherit my mom's skin. No wrinkles at 70 plus.

68. Does white hair count?
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 11:44 AM by hedgehog
No gray, but more and more white hairs have shown up in the last few years. My dad is about 75, and the last of his red hair is finally fading to white.

Added on edit: I'm sure I've added a bunch of white hairs already today. I should be all white by morning at this rate. The suspense is killing me!
