Fleabert news...
I don't spend nearly enough time here, I lurk and try to stay on top of major stuff and events, I wish it were more. I wish I had more to give MoveOn, they keep calling. I wish I had more time to spend with my loungelizards, I wish I could pm every single one of you that has been there for me when I needed it. I hope you all forgive my absence as of the last several months- I lurk and keep up on all y'alls major events, so I thought I'd share a bit of one of my own.

I found out today that I have an 'uphill battle' before me to get pregnant. I always have wanted to be pregnant and give birth- to the point that I wanted to be a surrogate for many years. I also want to adopt, so that option will be excercised no matter what... but it is a blow to hear the news I heard today. I have many negative factors, the worst it seems is that I may be pre-menopausal- at 33.

it sucks. I had no desire to go down the IVF path- it ain't easy I hear. Cross your fingers for me...

Anyway- I share this for two reasons: 1. I want you - my DU friends- to know that I haven't gone anywhere, I am just in my own little world these days. I do my best- 2. It helps me get thru it to just type it out and see it in front of my face. I am still reeling and trying to figure it out.

3. I've been there
I'll never forget when the doctors told me that there was a 3% chance of getting pregnant naturally. Our diagnosis was low motility and that I did not ovulate. We ended up doing IUI+drugs, and after 4 rounds, I am finally pregnant (due in June) No matter what treatment you end up with, I won't lie, it's not an easy road. But it is worth it when you see the heart beat for the first time...

Get educated, learn as much as you can about this, and find a good support group. I found one online and it saved my sanity.

Anyway, I don't know if this came out right, but I did want to let you know that I'm here for you.

Lisa:hug:

10. thank you and welcome to DU!
That does make me feel better, I hope I have a beating the odds story sometime soon. Congrats to you and your family. Luckily I have two women in my knitting group who have walked the same path. They are very supportive. Now I just need to get the books they recommended.

Thanks-

6. I agree with Lefty Mom.
You'll make a great mom, no matter how you get there. I will say this though. My brother and his wife had problems conceiving after their first born. I can't remember the reason, but the doctors were so certain that his wife would not have any more children, they told them to adopt. So, they started all the paperwork, paid money, and were approved for a child coming from China. They were making arrangements to pick the child up about a year before they were leaving when they found out that she was pregnant! Now they have two children who could almost pass for twins except one is definitely not caucasian. :) Anyhow, you never know what is going to happen, but you will make a great mom no matter what.

13. thank you.
my best friend just completed adopting her first child- we got to see it second hand and plan on doing the same in about two years. That has been the plan all along, I just thought I'd have a toddler by then. (we don't plan on purposely adopting an infant, so we thought they'd be the same age or the adopted child might be older even)

I am hoping that the Dr. was being conservative in his prognosis, and gave me the worst case scenario so I won't get my hopes up too much. It only takes one good egg...
