In 2001 Poundstone was arrested for charges of lewd acts on a child. <1> The charges were dropped in October of that year as part of a plea agreement, in which she pled no contest to charges of felony child endangerment and misdemeanor inflicting injury on a child. Few details were released, but the prosecutor indicated that the charges were a result of an incident in which Poundstone was driving her children while intoxicated. Poundstone was ordered to complete an alcohol rehabilitation program. Following completion of the program, she was granted full custody of her adopted children. The judge, Bernard Kamins, praised Poundstone for her rehabilitation.
