Don't get cocky just yet.
The new legislators won't take their seats until January. The current crew still have 2 months to do whatever they want, and now they have nothing to lose.

I'm reminded of an early episode of the West Wing. The Democrats had just lost the midterms, and were hoping to push through some contreversial bill (I think it had to do with legalizing gay marriage) in a lame-duck session. Josh tried to drum up support by saying that the outgoing Congressmen could get revenge on the citizens who just fired them, but one of their own people undermined him. The fellow said that even though he personally supported the bill, his constituents did not, and he would not go against them.

Do not expect the * crew to be this honorable or mature.

1. Actually, a lot of them do.
The Rethugs who kept their seats know they are going to have to deal with a Dem majority in the House.
