Would mid November be a good time to visit Virginia?
I am thinking about driving the munchkins to Virginia to visit Williamsburg, Jamestown..etc

I was thinking the long weekend after Thanksgiving...but I am also thinking about the weekend before.

So...any advice?

My daughter loves the Felicity books and I thought about doing something around that as well..

1. Virginia is for lovers...
...of DEMOCRACY! :bounce:

Seriously, Sen.-elect Webb's great state might be a bit chilly by then, but not too, too bad, 'specially not in the Tidewater region where the attractions you mentioned are located.

2. Yes, Virginia is beautiful in the fall.
Late October would probably be ideal, but November should be fine, if a bit cold.

And Williamsburg and Jamestown are very interesting.

3. Why not?
I'm only 30 mins and have to go there for all the shopping. I still want to go to Jamestown and Wilamsburg though.

9. Be sure to take in one of the shows at Williamsburg and eat in
one of the taverns. The food is delicious and it's very, very nice, especially at dinner. You dine by candlelight.

It's really terrific in the winter when they have the fireplaces roaring.

10. Oh we are definitely going to enjoy the dining and I already know one
restaurant...

Christiana Campbell's....

Years ago I went with my husband when my son was a toddler..and I was 6 mos pregnant...

My son was tired and so my husband and I took turns taking him outside while the other ate...so...from one of my outdoor jaunts with my little one...he comes in and dumps the gravel in his hand ..into his dad's beer...and my husband looked...and said..."oh well the alcohol will kill any germs and drank the rest of the beer".

We haven't been back since then...so now with a 10 and 8 year old...I am sure it will be much better...

11. If you are in Virginia, you need to stop at the Full Moon Alpaca Farm.
The place is wonderful and your daughter will love them. It's about an hour west of DC. The owners are wonderful people and they also sell items made from the alpaca wool (very soft)!

13. I just got back from Williamsburg.
It is BEAUTIFUL there right now. The air is brisk, the sun was out, and everyone was so nice.

If you decide to go, I can give you some advice on hotels and transportation. PM me!
