I won't be going to Wal-Mart any longer, pretty soon.
*NOT* because I don't like the store.

Because the nearby store, (about a mile and a half from me,) is moving completely to the South Side of Sheboygan, over 10 miles from me.

Looks like the nearby Shopko will be getting my business.

1. they talk about moving further away here too
tax abatement reasons, I hear.

I travel by bicycle and they are already too far away at 2.5 miles and three stoplights and hills. It's not worth twenty minutes of my time just to save a few pennies.

4. My primary transportation is by bicycle also.
And I'm not riding 10+ miles, through traffic and who knows how many traffic lights, just to save a couple dollars.
Or taking a city bus for over an hour.

The Wal-Mart in this area is the "main store," at a strip mall called "Taylor Heights."
When Wally's leaves, I think Taylor Heights will go belly up.
The grocery store that was there has already closed.

The Wal-Mart is closing, due to a megastore opening way down on the south side. :grr:

5. does the lake keep you that warm
that you can bike year 'round like I do down here, except for a couple weeks when there is snow on the roads. Someday, I may face a tough snowy winter here. Number 6 isn't looking tough so far. 80 degrees today.

6. No.
I can ride my bike in snow, without too many problems.

It's when it gets 10 degrees (or colder!) with a strong wind that I use the city bus.
