So, I thought it was time that I run an encrypted wireless network. So, I changed the settings on my linksys wrt54g router to go encrypted (WPA-TKIP). My desktop, connected to the router via ethernet, was still able to go to the Internet, no problem. Everything seemed okay.
So then I came to the laptop, with a linksys WPC54G PC Card. I formed a new ID on that, and set it up to the speak to the router via the encryption I chose, with the proper password. The card can see the router, and the router is showing up as encrypted - but wouldn't connect at all.
I have no idea why.
So, then I thought, "Okay, maybe this isn't worth the hassle. Let's just fuck it, and go back to normal".
But now, ever since trying to communicate with the router via the laptop, the desktop Internet won't work anymore.
I thought, "Okay, time to reset the router and go back to the original factory settings".
So, I check the manual, and it says to hold the reset button for 10 seconds and let it go, and that will reset the @*&*%(#.
I have done that many times, and it won't reset. My laptop still won't connect with it. And my desktop can no longer access the Internet.
Thank God someone else in the neighborhood has an unsecure network, or I wouldn't be online right now.
HELP!!!!!!!
