I'm smacking my lips over a really good California Pinot Noir. |
|
Talus, 2005.
To be honest, the color is a little weak, but it has a lot of character, with some terrific woody notes. And an effortless finish.

1. Oregon and Washington have excellent Pinot Noir |
|
Oregon is trying to corner the market on Pinot Noir, and I hope they succeed!
What's the label you're drinking?

Do you think it's a good wine, considering the price? Oh, and, whats the year? (I used to work in the wine department in a Liquor supermarket in CA. I guess it's a habit to ask.)

5. That's a decent "go-to" label |
|
And despite my inclination to defend all wines Californian, I have to say that Oregon makes damn great Pinot Noirs. For domestic wines, I enjoy California and Washington varietals equally, but always reserved Oregon for the best Pinots. :toast:

8. Next time I'm at the store, I'll look for an Oregon Pinot. |
|
I'm not a wine snob; I'll try anything I think will be good. :-)
