I'm smacking my lips over a really good California Pinot Noir.
Talus, 2005.

To be honest, the color is a little weak, but it has a lot of character, with some terrific woody notes. And an effortless finish.

1. Oregon and Washington have excellent Pinot Noir
Oregon is trying to corner the market on Pinot Noir, and I hope they succeed!

What's the label you're drinking?

Do you think it's a good wine, considering the price? Oh, and, whats the year?
(I used to work in the wine department in a Liquor supermarket in CA. I guess it's a habit to ask.)

5. That's a decent "go-to" label
And despite my inclination to defend all wines Californian, I have to say that Oregon makes damn great Pinot Noirs. For domestic wines, I enjoy California and Washington varietals equally, but always reserved Oregon for the best Pinots. :toast:

8. Next time I'm at the store, I'll look for an Oregon Pinot.
I'm not a wine snob; I'll try anything I think will be good. :-)
