Do *YOU* have tomorrow off from work? (veteran's day)
I ask this only b/c my partner and I are both state workers. He has tomorrow off. I don't.

I could sure use a day off work. Oh well. I'll just stop complaining bitterly and pretend that i enjoy working while my significant other is still asleep curled up with our kitty cats. :eyes:

3. My son is out of school tomorrow...
though i have to work (ah, the peril of the service industry) tomorrow evening.

I think i'll take him up to where his grandfather (my domestic partner's dad) is buried, so we can take some flowers and such. He was an Army vet, and i think it's important to instill in our son a sense of gratitude for those who put themselves in harm's way in defense of our country.

We'd be doing the same for my dad if we lived closer.

11. Nope. I'm here today.
I don't work for the state anymore, so no more lazy days for me.

Oh, wait!! I work at a University now - nevermind

12. For me, it's a "floating holiday."
Instead of taking it now, I'm using the time at Thanksgiving. With a couple of vacation days and the holiday that week along with the time from the "floating holiday", I've managed to secure the whole week off. :bounce: :woohoo:

14. Strange, when I was in the Army I never got Veteran's day off.
or Memorial day

or the 4th of July

at least for Christmas the entire post would close down for 2 weeks.

17. Yes, but not because of Veteran's Day.
I work in retail, and we don't close for holidays like that. I just happened to be given the day off.

but about half the office has decided to take the day off, it seems. I don't think I'm going to make it for the whole day.
