According to a police spokesperson , the 35-year-old actress approached the snappers, before a verbal argument ensued and she threw their laptops off the hotel balcony.

One of the computers then hit two women — one 80 years old, the other 91 — in the arm. Both were seated at the time, the one in a wheelchair.

Neither was seriously injured, according to the spokesperson.

"A laptop belonging to a photographer was thrown over an interior second floor balcony overlooking the main lobby of the hotel and hit two elderly ladies, aged 80 and 91, in the arm," he added.


"Based on the actions of the paparazzi, they are lucky their laptops are the only things that were tossed over the balcony," Richards' publicist told People magazine.

A rep for the production ("Blonde and Blonder"), which is about two clueless friends who get mistaken for mob hitwomen, said the incident was "getting blown way out of proportion".
