Free "Rolling Stone"...why? |
|
About a month ago I started receiving copies of Rolling Stone. I was delighted, as I got the "Worst Congress ever" issue, and it's been great politically in general (forget the music, I am an old fart of a girl, and I follow Steely Dan). But why am I receiving it? Did some group I signed up for send it to me as thank-you? My daughter's high school government teacher said yesterday in class that he suddenly started getting it too. I looked at the label, and it seems to be for one year. Can anyone explain this to me?

1. might be another magazine folded? |
|
sometimes if a magazine folds, instead of refunding unmailed issues, they'll switch you to a similar magazine. Usually they'll send a note...
Or, if you are a Salon.com member, I think you get a free RS subscription upon request. Or at least they were doing that for a while.

I wasn't getting anything else. And not Salon either...I go there from time to time, but I'm not a member.

I was supposed to get a free year's subscription, but they stopped coming after two issues.
