I've finally figured out what all those vinyl-heads are talking about. It sounds richer, deeper, more complex. Too bad they're so damn fragile. You've gotta treat 'em with kid gloves. R&R A is much better on vinyl than CD

is better than ANY thing that he did with the Velvets. Also, Berlin contains some of his best songs and most gorgeous singing, but that twit Bob Ezrin blunted its brilliance with his "everything AND the kitchen sink" production

the first album was so new and original, and is the most interesting and enjoyable to listen to...
Although "Foggy Notion" is probably my favorite VU song... complete throwaway jam, but just perfect fun.

7. Well here's what I think |
|
I'm kind of a fan so I don't have just one... Love Rock n Roll Animal and the Velvet era speaks to me across the years somehow, but for just great story-telling and Lou essence I kind of go for a shot of Street Hassle with a Berlin back

15. The album is called "New Sensations". Red Joystick is a song on that album. |
|
This guy on eBay has 10 of them for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Sensations-NEW-SEALED-CD-Lou-Reed_W0QQitemZ170047993731QQihZ007QQcategoryZ307QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemI also found it at Amazon.com. All the prices are high -- the cd must be out of print.

18. Hey -- I'm going to check iTunes...maybe they have it on there. |
|
That would be a lot cheaper than paying 30 bucks for it.
I actually saw Lou Reed on that tour...I love that album.

Once during the no moneydown tour and then again several years later at the Fox Theater in Detroit. I have the same last name as him and tried to sneak backstage with a clever ruse that got me no where.

Worth the price, Sony seems to own a lot of the more discriminating titles, imagine that. :)

As good as his early stuff his, including VU, I really think he hit his stride in the late 80's and early 90's. Kind of like a mid-life renaissance.
"Rock and Roll Animal" is tied, so I will say it's his best live album.
