Just out of curiosity: is there anyone here that was born in the 1980s? It'd be cool if there was a sizeable "Millennial" DU population. Ringo

32. I've read that the Millenial Generation goes from 1982 to 2003. |
|
At least according to a book I've read called The Fourth Turning by historians William Strauss and Neil Howe.

I guess I just missed it.
However, my little boy is a true "Millenium" baby, born in May of 2000. :)

Nobody has really settled on a name for us. Some (but not me) object to the term "Generation Y" because they feel that it makes us sound like we're just a copy of the Gen Xers.
Millennial...Generation Y...Nintendo Generation - we can use whatever everyone generally agrees on here. If you were born in the 1980s and grew up in the 90s, you're one of us.

Oh yeah... though I love newer games like GTA: San Andreas, I will probably never stop playing the original Super Mario series. I LOVE those games!
It's nice to meet you, Rev! We're practically brothers, having been born only nine days apart! Wish I had posted this thread earlier.

Never really thought of myself that way though, all my friends, dates etc were always several years older and I was a few years ahead in school, so I tend to identify with that generation more.

I've never heard the term Millenial before. I thought I was MTV Generation, the in-between zone of Gen X & Y.

10. They're still debating the name |
|
My guideline, however, has always been that if you were born in the 1980s and grew up during the Clinton years (the 1990s), you're probably a Gen Y/MTV Generation/Millennial/whatever.
Whatever you use is fine, by the way. I just wanted to see if people my age were here. Ringo

I happened to read about it online. They haven't actually settled on a name for us yet. I've heard "Generation Y", "Nintendo Generation", "MTV Generation", "Generation Next", etc. etc.
It doesn't really matter that much to me. Ringo
