It's raining again today! Yay!
As far as I'm concerned, the more rain over the next few weeks the better, LeftyKid's getting really eager to go sledding.

1. Give him the car keys
Let him go out and drive sideways.

3. When it rains here it snows in the mountains a bit to the east
We never get snow that sticks here, but it piles up very deep less than two hours away, so if we want to go play in the snow we just drive into the Sierras.

4. Oh okay. I was thinking of sledding down muddy hills or something.
Figured it was some weird Californian vegan thing.

5. A friend and I went to the Central Michigan/Western Michigan game last night
Temperature at game time -- say, 38 degrees, wind from the dead north at gale force (the flags were flapping straight out and the poles were bowing), and rain coming down like a cow pissing on a flat rock.
I hadn't been to a CMU game since I left there in 1981. Sure picked a swell night to do it. We listened to the last two-thirds of the game out in the parking lot.
John
Central won 31-7, are undefeated in the Mid-American Conference (our three losses are to Boston College, Michigan and Kentucky) and are heading to the MAC Championship Game in Detroit on November 30 (inside at Ford Field, thank God!, and, yes, we'll be there).
