Happy Birthday to Me!

So far this is unfolding to be one of my better birthdays.

I awoke to a bacon, leek and goat cheese omelette with an eggnog latte.

After breakfast, I drove to Disney World and officiated a wedding at the Boardwalk Inn. The bride was so sweet, included me in the champagne toast and announced it was my birthday. The violinist switched to the "Happy Birthday" song. Definitely NOT a bridezilla, that one! (Oh, and a host at Spoodles gave me a bottle of water free when I went in to buy one before the wedding...the size they usually charge your first born for at Disney World.)

I returned home to a clean house and lunch waiting on the table. My husband took the kids with him to the grocery store so I could finish writing tomorrow's sermon and now he is making me a Dried Apricot and Muscat Cheesecake with Gingersnap Crust.

In about an hour or so we'll head over to a kid-friendly neighborhood eatery that serves 2-for-1 drinks at dinner time.

But I also do independent weddings outside of my congregation. This was a couple from Chicago who found me at my website. They were wonderful. Two members of a local Chicago band heavily influenced by Green Day. Just darling people. I downloaded one of their .mp3s for my son and he thought they were "wow, like awesome! I can't believe you're marrying rock stars mom!" Doesn't take much to impress a 9 year old. The song's pretty good actually.
