Hundreds Of Sheep March On Madrid In Protest
<snip>

MADRID, Spain -- A group of protesters that recently took to the streets in Spain didn't chant -- but they did bleat.

A flock of about 700 sheep marched through Madrid on Sunday in an annual protest to urge the protection of 78,000 miles of ancient livestock grazing routes.

Some of the paths are 800 years old and are being threatened by urban development.

The annual protest also included donkeys, horses and people dressed in old-fashioned clothes from rural Spain. Crowds lined up to see the protest and children petted the animals as they marched past.

The march was scheduled for last weekend but was delayed by road construction.

1. It should be about time for the unemployed to go on strike in France
Every year the unemployed go on strike in France for a Christmas bonus. They have to organize and put on a march in Paris in order to get it. They always do.

Basically everyone strikes in France at one point in the year. Everyone is a member of a tradegroup so once a year someone somewhere in your line of work says "F**k it" and calls a strike. You get an extre week off.

Criminals strike there too-nonviolent criminals with families get to go home on weekends but during the week they do road work and forest type stuff and so forth. In order to get THEIR Christmas bonus they go on strike too...and they get the bonus.

I heard David Sedaris talk about this on Letterman and I asked the woman who used to cut my hair-she said "Oh yeah everyone does".

Oh and don't ask a cop to do anything around noon he will probably look at his watch and say "I'm on lunch" in which case you have to wait until at least 2 more like 3.
