Rules of Business
a couple of co-workers and I were spit-balling ideas on what the company can do to increase sales.

essentially, the way the place is run is pretty pitiful. We are a small company within a larger company. The big-wig in charge shows up maybe 2 or 3 times a year. He does very little except to be on the phone with other smaller companies that he is also in charge. Rest of the time we float along without any direction.

I often compare it to being in ICU and the doctors are wondering if there is a DNR order around...

I have a short list that I call the Rules of Business. In today's discussion with the co-workers - we added a rule #5.

The rules of business
1. Logic does not apply

2. When the right person gets pissed, something will be done

3. If you don't own the company - you're expendable

4. If you don't know where you are going, you won't know where you are when you get there.

5. The Christmas rule: YOU do all the work, and the fat guy in the red suit gets the credit
