Poll question: Are you making stuffing or dressing?
I don't stuff the bird anymore, make my dressing in the crockpot.

1. I make two dressings.
One a more or less traditional Bell's Seasoning bread stuffing, the other whatever new recipe suits my fancy.

3. Both.
I make enough so that I can stuff the bird and then have a casserole that I put a ton of butter on and bake. Last year I made this wild rice dressing that was WONDERFUL...kids didn't especially like it, though so I'm not doing it again this year.

4. We call it stuffing, but I don't stuff the turkey with it.
I just buy the stuff in the box. I don't eat it anyway.

6. Southerns always make cornbread dressing. It's a family tradition at my home.
In Louisiana, they make an oyster dressing which is out of the world delicious! Yum! My sister-in-law makes it along with a turkey infused with Cajun seasonings and a Cajun seasoned and slow cooked venison roast.

OK, I'm really hungry now. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

9. I always make cornbread stuffing...
I lived in Alabama just long enough for it to become a necessity. And it's a tradition...to bake off the cornbread on Tuesday and then, on Thursday morning, the kids crumble it. They're all older now, but they started doing it when they were very little and they still get in there giggling early Thanksgiving morning.

One of my favorite times of the day.

12. I love Thanksgiving morning and the smell of the food cooking for lunch!
I will travel to another city and state to have my Thanksgiving meal with my mom and sister. My mom has been ill with some intestinal problems which resulted from radiation therapy and my sister just had a total knee replacement so we will have a low key day. However, we will have the full meal of roast turkey breast, turkey gravy (creamy not chunky), cornbread dressing, sweet potato souffle, green beans and fresh cranberry salad. Oh yeah, sweet ice tea with lemon and crescent rolls with butter!

Have a great Thanksgiving with your family out there in beautiful Colorado! Enjoy your cornbread dressing! :hi:

10. I'm not making anything
I'm working in the morning while the boyfriend cooks and then I'm going to lay around after work and drink beer and watch football while he slaves over the hot stove.

Well, maybe I'll drink wine and play on the computer but you get the idea.

13. Technically dressing, because I don't stuff the bird.
We still call it stuffing, though. Always. My mother never stuffed the bird, but we've always just called the stuff "stuffing."

Stuffing in the bird for the meat eaters and vegan dressing out of the bird for the vegans/vegetarians

17. Dressing--I'm not sure what I'd stuff. I guess I could buy one of the Tofurky roasts that are
already stuffed but they never have enough stuffing.

18. I'll be making cornbread dressing AND some kind of focaccia stuffing
from Williams-Sonoma. Because my family is schizophrenic Southerners who like our good eats yet feel the need to be all fancy-pants at the same time.

I need to open a high-class soul food restaurant somewhere -- wonder if it would work?

19. I used to make stuffing.
But as a vegan I don't stuff anything, so now it's dressing.
