Couldn't they have waited until at least Thanksgiving???

1. I can remember when it just wasn't done...
No Thanksgiving stuff out until November 1, no Christmas stuff out or up until the day after Thanksgiving. Period.

I've been seeing Christmas stuff going up for the past two weeks, at least.

*sigh*

It's too much.

2. And the sad part is that they seem to be playing the same songs over and over again!
Driving home from my son's basketball practice I heard 3 of the same songs (played in the same order) that I heard earlier when I was on my way home from work! You would think that out of the 1,000,000 or so Christmas songs out there they could mix it up a bit :)

4. Loew's in Bowie, MD
had Christmas stuff out the 2nd or 3rd week of October. We had gone in to get some 2 x 4s and there the section was, right by the front door as you walked in. What was even more disturbing was how picked over it looked already.

5. I hate that Thanksgiving has seemingly been swept under the rug...
in the rush to commence the pre-XMas retail bacchanal.

6. They always do.
I live in Maryland. I think they waited until after Thanksgiving last year, though.

9. You're right - they usually do....of course every time I have the kids in the car
they want to hear the Christmas songs :)

Oh well...the only two songs I REALLY don't like is the "Christmas Eve in Washington" (or whatever it's called) and the one about the kid who wants to buy shoes for his soon to be dead mother (we call that one the "Dead Shoes Song".

11. Most retail stores start putting up Christmas in mid-October.
I used to do it for a living.

I was completely immune to it, after awhile.

12. I have a feeling this is going to be the worst holiday season EVER
They've already put the garland up in the center where I work.

There's even an effing tree!

The whole thing just makes me want to blow chunks.

15. Are you part of the War on Christmas?
I'M SOOOOOOO KIDDING, obviously. :)

My city (White Plains, NY) stuck the big electric snowflakes on the lampposts in October. Sheesh.
