Parents: do you buy your kids toys that YOU want to play with?
For the number of radio-controlled cars my husband has bought our older son (who never seems to be that interested in them,) I'm pretty sure he's guilty of doing so. He's also been quite fixated on getting him Tinkertoys.

I buy alot of books from childhood that I loved. I went on a mad rampage to find a copy of the Snow Queen, illustrated by Susan Jeffers, because SophieMN (unbeknownst to her) HAD to have it!

How about you? Christmas is coming up- are you scouring Ebay for a Speak-and-Spell or one of those Lite Brite contraptions?

1. I don't have kids, but
I buy my niece and nephew toys that I wanna play with. I bought my nephew some Shake 'N' Go cars the other day. They's fun.

As an added bonus, he likes 'em, too. :D

9. Not a parent either
but my neice and nephew also get things that I will play with. Toys like Lego and K-nex are always Uncle Tom pleasers. A few years ago I spent four hours on Christmas day building a Screaming Serpent roller coaster and loved every minute of it.

3. I am so guilty of this.
Especially with books, but I've done it with toys, too. Sometimes it does work out, though, and they enjoy it too. But, there have been a few duds

4. As long as you're not buying them clothes you'd like to wear,
it's probably okay.

5. Yeah...
I've done it. And continue to do so.

Their interests are changing as they get older and more independent though, so I don't know how much longer I'll be able to get away with it.

6. I get to buy Hot Wheels cars again!
For my three year old girl. She likes to arrange them in patterns and sort them by color.

7. Why
Then I have to share. I'm old enough to admit I'm buying them for myself, and their now old enough that they don't want toys now anyway
