1. Robert Tomlin, 22, of Smithsburg....
...words to google by (in my own fashion of "cyber justice")...I will google his name over and over and over with the words "killed kittens" and put those phrases on google alert, for emails, until he is forever associated with that phrase. The psycho!

Grrr...:grr:

5. Here he is:

And from inhumane.org:

22-year-old Robert Tomlin of Washington County allegedly assaulted his 19-year old girlfriend Kelli Green, at their home on Crystal Falls Drive on Sunday morning. Tomlin knocked Green down and kicked her in the head, causing her to temporarily lose hearing in her right ear.

The Washington County sheriff's office Investigators stated that Tomlin is also accused of throwing four kittens into a fire pit, killing the pets. After his arrest, Green stated her boyfriend belongs in an alcohol rehab center and not behind bars. She also stated “It wasn't him. He was intoxicated. Heavily intoxicated. I mean, I don't know. He loved the cats. He loves me. He wouldn't have done anything to hurt me intentionally."

Tomlin is being held at the Washington County detention center and faces charges of second-degree assault and animal mutilation. He is bail is set at $25,000.

Sounds like she needs some serious counseling, too, before she ends up dead! :scared:

10. That's what struck me, too.
He kicks her in the head, but he loves her. Loved those kittens too. He's proven it, obviously.

28. I just hope we don't see another news story with his name in it
Only this time the quote might be "It wasn't him. He was intoxicated. Heavily intoxicated. I mean, I don't know. He loved the BABY. He loves me. He wouldn't have done anything to hurt me intentionally."

IMO, anyone who would do that to those poor innocent kittens isn't all that far from doing the same to an innocent baby.

Robert Tomlin, 22, of Smithsburg was sentenced Monday to 1 1/2 years in jail for aggravated animal cruelty. Washington County Circuit Judge John McDowell suspended the sentence except for the 134 days Tomlin has served since his arrest.

a whole lot of people have worked tirelessly over the years to see that these kinds of sentences happen. A decade ago he may have gotten community service, if that.

7. I'll bet it was a plea
to drop the battery and destruction of "property" charges.

I agree, though...things in many places have gotten better. Animal abuse is tolerated much less than it used to be.

9. makes me so sad how these two are linked
animal abuse and domestic violence. How much effort does it take to pick up four kittens and take them with you if you are leaving...I hate to sound like an ogre but it was really stupid of this woman to leave them there and expect they'd be okay.

15. you are right.
but like I was thinking about these kids who sodomized a cat not to long ago, it was linked on the Pasado Safe haven website, the cat had horrible wounds but the kids got off scot free because the police said they 'didn't mean' to hurt it. I know that that is not near enough time but I'm just so glad to see that kind of sentence handed out for animal abuse. It's such an improvement from where we used to be, and I feel it's only going to get better and better since so many links are being made between animal abuse and domestic violence and violent crimes in general.

4. He's 22, hits women, burns kittens alive and gets 134 days in the pokey
with the rest of the sentence suspended. Mmmmkay...nice work officials. Glad to see this asshole back on the streets.

He's definitely deserving of a more appropriate punishment.

21. Especially since he exhibits no remorse...
He told his girlfriend from jail that "he should have finished what he started."
That speaks volumes right there.

6. 134 days for killing innocent kittens
just because he was mad at his girlfriend. I have 6 cats and if anyone to hurt one hair on their bodies, I would have to do my own "justice"

It seems almost everyday I'm having to ask myself what is wrong with some people.

I don't think he was mad at his girlfriend. I think he was just being a hateful sack of shit.

that had an argument with another driver, stopped her to talk to her, and yanked her dog from her arms and threw him into oncoming traffic. He got three years in jail and the dog owner a horrible scene seared into her memory. Hell doesn't burn hot enough for the cruelty man inflicts on animals.
