Hey, it could have been an ape with his arms severed by a predator and his lower back broken which healed in such a way that he had an unnatural posture and could stand up when he walked on his hind legs.

;)

3. how do you explain the relation of the pelvis and upper leg bones.
They are remarkably similar if not identical to modern humans - we are adapted for upright bipedal gait. How do you also explain impressions of tracks made by an adult and juvenile apes left in sandstone, did they both lose their arms?

Sorry Floog but I'll go with the paleontologists on this one. Homo Habilis and Australopithicines walked upright.

4. Durn! I just remembered that I wanted to watch NOVA tonight...
There was a story about a family of people in rural Turkey who walk on all fours.

6. It was an extremely interesting NOVA!
And was followed by a program on wind. Showed tornado footage I'd never never seen.

8. So what was the deal?
Are they devolving? Did they determine that it's unnatural for people to walk on two legs?

9. Parents were cousins
It's a genetic deal where the development of the genes that are part of what every creature is made of, and the children's gene was shut down to varying extents. However, some of them have learned to walk (limited) with assistance, training, and all of the children (they are adults) have varying cognitive problems.

Anyway, you can read more about it all here:
