Law and Order SVU - Who watched last night?
So how does Elliot get away with kissing his new partner? I was waiting for him to get together with Olivia!

1. Elliot is feeling lost right now.
His marriage is over, Olivia is not his partner any more......His family and his partner were his anchors, and with them gone, at least for now, he's adrift.

the future may look better for Elliot and Olivia after she gets back from Oregon.

(but I didn't tell you that...)

5. Aw, Elliot and Olivia
so cute!

Though I have to admit, my favorite on there is Munch, because in one episode, he was talking to this kid or something and he was like "If i had kids, they'd be called munchkins" and it was uber funny

7. Det. Munch is awesome.
Edited on Wed Nov-15-06 11:46 PM by Drum
Richard Belzer was the same character for a bunch of seasons of "Homicide: Life on the Street" which was set in Baltimore. A very good series IMO, and the same wound-up John Munch was there in the mix. I recommend this series, if you like a good police drama.

30. Belzer set a record of sorts playing Munch, iirc
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 04:44 PM by Rob H.
He played Munch on episodes of Law & Order, The X-Files, and Homicide that were all broadcast during the same week.

Here's another bit of trivia from wikipedia:

Munch's appearance on Sesame Street, which aired August 14, 2006, made him the only fictional character played by a single actor to appear on eight different television shows. These shows were on four different networks: NBC (Homicide: Life on the Street, the Law & Order shows), FOX (The X-Files, Arrested Development), UPN (The Beat), and PBS (Sesame Street).

I've been saying since the very beginning that Munch (and now Munch and Tutuola) should be getting way more screen time. Glad to see there are other Munch fans around. :)

33. The Munch character also appeared in X-Files.
He was in a flashback episode where Mulder wore a wedding ring and smoked cigarettes. Mulder ended up naked and screaming like a loon in some warehouse, and Munch and his crew found him.

41. OMG, that's right!
I had forgotten about that X-Files. What a pleasure...Munch is welcome anywhere, and that droll thing of R. Belzer's is terrific.

Thx for the reminders! :)

12. Munch and his conspiracy theories rule.
Fin Tutuola does as well, but I have a real hard time with Ice-T as a detective.

Both their characters are just great. Dry humor and sarcasam, with that heart underneath. Love it.

Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 03:13 AM by BlueIris
Ice-T OWNS every plot or subplot he is in. It always annoys the crap out of me that no one has every significantly appreciated the fact that he is the SINGLE STRONGEST ACTOR ON THAT SERIES. I really hope he can get into more and more gratifying work this way.

21. "Homicide" was stronger than any of the L&Os, and really one of the
best (and certainly most underrated) dramas in TV history! Still nice to see one surviving character from Homicide on a current show...

6. I am very disappointed
that's one of the reasons I like L & O so much - it doesn't delve heavily into the home dramas - I think this sh**, besides being extremely unprofessional, puts it in soap opera territory. I'm not impressed with this gal - is she just there why Mariska is on maternity leave?

15. Completely Agree!
L&O:SVU is turning too Lifetime Movie of the Week for me - too much about the character's family turmoil (and of course, there's always turmoil with Tatooed Family Man); too many manipulative storylines involving children and now it loks as though they're slapping an unneeded love story onto it. L&O: Special D'Onofrio Unit is my current favorite of the three, and it looks as though they're trying to make his character have a Lifetime story, too. I'm just hoping it turns out to be creepy, not maudlin.

20. I need to revist that show with the return of my favorite, Chris Noth
it never caught on with me because I did not find main guy's character to be credible - I mean, even the most REMOTE topic he'd be an EXPERT on - spouting all sorts of facts off the top of his head - it sounded ridicuous to me

They had a quick smooch and then got called away on a case. That's all there was too it. Contrary to the way it looked in the network previews, Olivia didn't see it.

22. A friend of my s-i-l's is one of the writers.
We like it and watch it in re-runs almost every night there's not something better on.
At their request, the writer has written several of his college friends names into his scripts.
My s-i-l's name was a character, junior ass't. DA I think. S-i-l said "Make him a real asshole." and he did.
Haven't seen the episode yet.

38. Benson is Olivia's last name
She was once a strong confident woman...now it seems she allows herself to get all wrapped up in all the cases. A detective of her caliber might get emotionally involved in a few cases over the life of a career but not every one.

I don't watch the original Law & Order as much as I used to, and I think his departure is the main reason. None of the other, newer detectives have really done anything for me--I'd rather watch a rerun with Briscoe!

25. I like Law and Order because usually they just stay on plot--
when i watch i don't want to know about their personal lives, i want to see the crime scene, the vic and in the end watch the perp get caught and sent to prison. The extraneous personal lives shit bugs the hell out of me. I've been watching L & O for 17 years, they owe me this much, even on it's spinoffs.
