We had one hell of a windy day here in Houston, 25 miles per hour wind blowing.
I had to go out and about and had a hard time walking, the wind is still blowing but not so hard.

The wind was blowing so hard that I had to stay behind a wall until the wind died down a little.

I guess the wind was blowing out all the Republican hot air.

1. sorry to hear it
"I guess the wind was blowing out all the Republican hot air."

Sounds like you're going to be having strong winds for a few more months, then. There is a lot of Republicon hot air.

:hi:

(which didn't work out, either, but that's a whole 'nother story), and they were cancelling flights to DFW on account of high winds. The wind has to be awfully bad for them to be cancelling flights like that. Must have been blowing a gale through Texas.

4. I was walking around downtown Houston, the streets were like wind tunnels.
Walking with the wind was as bad as walking against it.

I didn't see any planes flying today, the birds couldn't fly either.

6. we had 52 mph gusts yesterday
and sustained winds of over 28 mph.

I said goodbye to a few more of my slowly vanishing shingles.

8. The wind gusts in Houston reached 47 miles per hour.
I believe it.

At one street 6 of us had to hang on to each other just to cross the street. We didn't know each other either.
