I think you can break down some loot into shards, the loot is classed into different colours (purple green etc)

6. Sounds about right.
Magical items (weapons and armor, mostly) in World of Warcraft are colour-coded according to rarity. Purple-grade items are very powerful, and can take a long time to acquire.

If you have the Enchanting skill, you can "break down" an item into a small pile of magical dust or crystals (shards), which you can then use to enhance other pieces of gear. It's a good way to get rid of obsolete gear.

So, "sharding your purples" translates to "destroying your essential equipment that it took you a month to get".

And I love Scottish Folds, but may have to rethink it:

Some of those are hysterical.

7. Yes they are right
In World Of Warcrack uhm I mean Warcraft purple items are the highest equipment you can earn. If you disenchant them (assuming not needed to wear) you will get a shard that is worth a bunch of gold. Gold is money. Like life, money makes the World Of Warcraft go round.

So there ya go.
