Let me try to clarify something
The thread I posted last night was not really meant to get into the middle of something personal between any members here. I don't know what happened behind the scenes or in PM's between the warring factions and, to be perfectly honest, I have no real desire to know. So let me just make this really clear.

There is NO need for people to rip each other to shreds here. EVER. If you don't like someone, do not communicate with them. If you feel someone is being a jerk or posting inappropriate things or just generally being insulting to you or anyone else, and this is happening on a regular basis, address it with Skinner or Elad or even one of the mods. Then put the person on ignore and let them take care of it.

This is supposed to be a great time for us liberals, remember? WE WON!! We're back on top again and we finally have a glimmer of hope after six years of utter hell with Smirk n Snarl raping our country. I would venture to say that very damn few of the people who have left, and especially the ones who posted goodbye threads, are closet freepers or trolls. Let's just be nice to each other, mmmkay?

Enough of that... on to more important things. Just wanted to clear that up :hi:

1. Ignore and Hide a thread are not used enough
it's such a simple way to make the DU experience beter when things are annoying someone.

You did nothing wrong and your intentions were positive and clear.

:hi:

2. I just think somehow that
starting multiple threads about it really doesn't help. All it does is bring strife and drama to the forefront of peoples minds that many more times. It also provides a space for even more people to weigh in, often in ignorance of the situation, and inflame things further, while they feel like they're above it. I'm glad you clarified, good intentions are always nice to find :)

5. Clever
Fact is, I posted this in response to PMs I was getting because sometimes people like to read things into posts that aren't there. Glad you're entertained tho

3. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to give us a further update
We wouldn't want to forget about it.

6. Yeah, I'll update you here instead of starting a new thread
The update is that, once again, people don't bother to make distinctions at all. They read what they want into a post, mostly so the cute reply they thought up will make a little bit of sense. Oh well :eyes:

7. Please give it up.
Your words are meaningless to them.

The people who don't bother to make distinctions will not change.
The people who think PMs are a clever way to carry on a losing argument aren't going to change.
Those who like to stalk posters who have an unpopular view aren't going to change.
The people who make a practice of baiting other posters into breaking the rules of conduct aren't going to change.
Those who are unwilling to see that differences of opinions may have validity and those who will argue that their opinions are worth more than facts offered by those who have expertise in the subject matter are not going to change.

Yes, we can use the ignore function or hide threads but fuck'em. I try to avoid entering into a battle of words with such posters but I won't ignore them when they are acting like playground bullies.

9. You're right, of course
I've got too much going on out here in the real world to deal with silly people who comb through posts trying to find ways to be insulted. Speaking of the real world, I better go knock out some more dictations before I head off for class :(
