11. Sweet. Sadly, as a 3L, I'd say that Legal Research is the most underappreciated class at that time

I hope you made it interesting and emphasized the added value of state digests and ALR annotations over crappy Lexis and Westlaw searches.

13. I tried!
Their assignment for tonight is to represent either Britney or K-Fed in their child custody dispute. I give them a fact pattern and a question to answer...they have to use the resources we've discussed to find the answer. ;)

5. I just made an ass of myself though...
completely forgot it was eval day, walked in to set up class...and nearly walked right into the lady in charge of the evals. Had an "oh! Shit!" moment, turned on my heel and left immediately.

They're really tight-assed about the prof being anywhere near the classroom during evals. Oops!

4. That you're new at this and seem a bit green
but that you clearly know your stuff and you're an excellent teacher. :P

6. Eeek!
You can tell I'm green? Ouch.

No, I know, I keep posting about how freaked out I am. But I try to get that out of my system here, rather than in class.

Unfortunately, I'm under 30 and look it. So they're on to me.

16. Booo!
And they haven't seen my car. We don't let the 1L's park next to the professors, silly.

12. LOL - you remind me of my friend's wife.
She was all freaked out about her first evaluations, but now she's over the whole thing. :D

Did Liza get her bear?

And no, Liza doesn't have her bear yet! We've been playing phone tag all day.

18. I suspect that they will love you.........
Since you're nearer their age, and all that.....

But you're also very bright, and you know your stuff........

You'll be fine!

19. I know you'll get to look at the evals after you hand out the grades,
but have you checked out that website... gradeyourprofessor.com, or something like that? Not only might you find out what they really think of you, but you might find out if they think you're not, or not! Stupid, I know; my STBE husband is a physics prof. He showed me the site.

I'm scared to look!

And yes, I'll see the evals in a few weeks, I assume.

24. My husband stopped looking at them after getting too comfortable.
One year, he did, and was surprised. It's always a good idea to keep tabs on how the students are responding to you, however favorable those initial comments might be. No doubt you are beloved!

20. They'll probably say . . . .
"Why couldn't we get a prof that actually practiced law in the real world for years and years and knows what the fuck is going on in court houses around our geographical region?"

;)

21. Hahaha, they don't know enough
to realize that would even make a difference.

Remember, these are 1st years. They think that 9th Circuit decisions are binding on the Idaho Supreme Court.

No. Seriously. They do.
