mated to the world's largest video data base.
Plus the content is user driven.

It's the Library of Alexandria of video and sound
files.

I stumbled on a very interesting statistic yesterday.

There are presently 3+ BILLION sound files on the internet.

One for every two living persons on the planet.

20. The only catch is,

every year each person who has previously used youtube in that particular calendar year must submit one (30-second minimum) nekkid clip of said user. Other than that, yes, it's free.

30. That does work - occasionally - but not very often.

I'm not sure what is wrong, most of the time it only "loads" a small protion then the red line goes all the way across and seems to be finished (the same thing happens if I lose my connection), but if I try to play it only goes a short way then ends and asks if I want to replay. Usually I want to break something. I would rather it had some kind of pop-up that laughed at me and my slow dial up and said "ha this will never work, don't bother"

I have had some other technical suggestions from good DUers but haven't tried them yet - if anyone wants to see what they were, you could search my posts in the lounge and the computer forum. They would have been since July I think.

29. YouTube is like internet crack.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't look for something on there to watch. Music videos that I wouldn't be able to see anywhere else, old commercials I remember from my childhood, Janeane Garofalo clips (both comedic and political), Storm Large clips (most people here probably won't know who Storm Large is, unless you watched Rockstar Supernova; she and her band are based in Portland and she is effing AWESOME), even old TV shows. Oh, hey, I almost forgot. Do a search for room to breathe, and click on the topmost result. It's a near-13-minute short film (and because it's over 10 minutes, I'm assuming the person who uploaded it is a premium member) co-starring a friend of mine, Daria O'Neill. I love Daria more than anyone else in the world. She's a radio DJ here in Portland and also a very good actress, which can be attested to by the fact that her real personality is the exact opposite of her character's. It's a pretty creepy film, so be prepared for that (it actually freaked me out so much that I couldn't watch it a second time until about two weeks had passed). Also starring Art Alexakis from Everclear as The Henpecked Husband! Daria's forté is comedy, though, so she needs to do a humorous short film next. Okay, I have to shut up or I can go on for paragraphs about her.

Even DSL takes too long. And forget about dial-up.

And you don't even need to be a member. The only time you need to be a member is if you want to view some of the more racy videos.
