I wanted to extend my gratitude to all you fine DUers for having been the most frequent visitors to my website over the past several months especially. It says a lot to me that my fellow posters here have been gracious enough to add to my hit count on a regular basis.

For those of you who don't know me, I write futuristic urban fantasy and futuristic fantasy. If you're not familiar with these terms, don't feel bad. I am, as far as I know, the only author currently using them. My work involves magic and monsters in a future setting...some on Earth, some elsewhere in a vast universe of multiple probable Earths.

The underlying theme in my work is that of the value of humanity--that being changed from an ordinary human doesn't strip a person of his or her humanity. That being a "monster" is more about more than what's on the outside. It's about what's on the "inside." It touches on prejudice, religious extremism and hatred, and the the very things that make us what we are as people.

My editor thinks that it has a great chance of gaining a cult following. And that it would make a awesome graphic novel as well. Unfortunately the best artists I've ever met--the ones with the talent to make this a reality--have tended to be too flaky to stick with a project long enough to see it to fruition.

Again, I wanted to thank DUers for showing their interest by visiting my website. I know I've picked up a few fans here, not only for my political essays, but for my fiction as well. I appreciate it more than I can say.

I promise that no matter what, even if I gain the fame or notoriety I dream about, I will always respect my fans--particularly my fellow DUers.

And yes, no matter how much success I attain, I will always be a liberal and vocally support liberal causes. Escaping from day-job hell will not change that. Liberalism stands for truth and justice, two ideals I can never imagine abandoning.
