RANT about my local supermarket
WHY do they never have bananas that are ripe? I go there and all I see is a sea of green. What about if I want to buy bananas to eat today?

:nuke:

:grr:

1. You know what's coming, don't you?
So I don't really need to say it, do I?

Of course, I could still do this:

4. This irritates me too!
And then they seem to go from green to overripe in one day. My kids won't eat them if they have even one little spot on them. It's a wonder that I even buy them.

I've found that out the hard way. :D I got in trouble for putting peanut butter cookies instead of chocolate chip in my daughter's lunch yesterday. :hi:

18. Isn't Wannabe old enough to pack her own lunch?
I know that is what I would tell her if she complained to me.

Jeez, I've even known some to go bad when they're still green at the ends.

12. Okay so far
I just got half of my report to work. It's a fasting day today, so I'll expect a caffeine-withdrawal headache later in the day.

I am glad you are with me. How are you?

23. Exactly!
:hi: If any brown spots appear, I let the banana get extremely overripe, then I freeze it for use in banana bread later on. I like bananas slightly green with no brown spots when I'm eating them straight.

13. good morning, billy
:hi: I am sorry you can't find bananas to eat. My suggestion would be to buy them when they're green and allow them ripen. i mean, they'll eventually ripen, at least then you'll have some on hand for when you're in the mood for one. sorry.

14. Hey buddhamama!
:loveya: Nice to see you!

I do usually buy them to keep and eat when ripe - just I was not very organised and only went to get them yesterday, when I needed them for today.

21. Hi Fugue!
I had no choice but to get some bananas that are just on the cusp of ripeness. Unfortunately they are not very palatable. x(

25. Mainland bananas suck
or rather, the Central American imports that predominate up there do.

I was in my mid-30s when I finally came out here and realized that bananas were ctually supposed to taste like something!

I'm eating one now in fact, and all sexily I might add.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm sooooo kidding about that last part. Is "sexily" even a word?

27. I wanna shop THERE!
I WANT to buy GREEN BANANAS.

I like bananas that are "just barely ripe" - not really ripe. So if I buy them yellow at the store after a day - I don't want them anymore - they're too mushy and too sweet.

As it is, I buy the greenest I can find and only buy 3 or 4 tops.
