2. Seriously
He's sitting in a chair now. He's conscious, and still talking, but he's wearing an oxygen mask and is wired up to an ECG.

I don't know where to look.

4. The paramedic has led him away now
into a side room, for a bit of fresh air (and some privacy, I expect). Poor guy.

The paramedics just left, without him. Guess he isn't doing too badly.

18. He may be on the hypoglycemic side.
I am, and whenever I got too hot and/or had not eaten, or when I cut myself (like poster said below); I would pass out.

Know what worked for me? Cola. NOT juice. Go figure. My body metabolizes it better.

7. That is scary
I have a close friend who is a diabetic and I've seen her have some awful lows...and at that point you can't even get her to eat or drink anything. Really scary.

11. It is scary when someone goes down, for any reason.
I had a woman passout on election day. We have a fire staion close by so it didn't take long for help to arrive.

I hope you co worker is OK.

13. When my abuser ex boss went down I tried to help him.
I had sworn I wouldn't piss on the SOB if he was on fire, but when he cut his hand (a 1/4 inch and not even deep enough to need stitches!) and passed out I actually tried to help him. I walked away feeling like maybe I wasn't such a bad human being after all.

I still can't stand the F**ktard, but at least I didn't run over and kick him when he was down...

Hope your co-worker is ok!

16. Poor guy...
hope he didn't hurt himself falling down.

I used to use honey when my grandma did that. Just a spoonful does the trick. Sometimes kinda had ta force it in there, though.

Hope he's feeling better and not too embarassed.

19. Honey does seem to work best.
My dad is diabetic and carries those little fast food packets of honey with him at all times.

17. I am ashamed to admit that your post made me giggle. Hysterically.

As did that person who once posted, in all seriousness, "my house just caught on fire."

For the record I have had to care for a diabetic, shots and all, and have seen a blood sugar crash firsthand so I do understand how grave and truly scary the situation can be. So it's not the situation but your post which strikes me as funny. Like if somebody were to post, "I'm sunk up to my chest in quicksand and a ravenous beast is gnawing on my left arm. Fortunately I am right-handed, so I will keep you updated."

Sorry. And I am glad the guy is fine. And I know it was an uncomfortable situation for you, sweetie. It's just, well...
