and although the abuses he related in "the jungle" are nowhere near as bad now, what the FDA allows and its actual enforcement capability is pretty damn scary.

and another reason why i don't use antibacterial soaps.
i want my body to be a temple of resistance and immunity. i think of it as self-inoculation.
we as a culture have become so weak willed, so led, so weakened that we run in fear of the very bacteria that made our ancestors thrive and which have propelled the human race through millenia of existence.
the immune system is a thing of wonder.
i think about restaurant menus from 100 - 150 years ago, people ate all kinds of raw food back then.
i think the introduction of chemicals and preservatives is a good thing.
i want to be toxicity man.

Yeah, it kills a few germs but on the bright side the undertaker will have to use less chemicals to preserve me when I eventually pass. I think of it as being kind to the environment.
