Poll question: Yes or No?
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 09:21 PM by Kelly Rupert
In these trying times, relativism won't cut it any longer. It's time to stand firm, and stand up for what we believe in. It boils down to a matter of our fundamental human natures--either we're going to be in solid, complete support, or we're going to be completely, wholly against. There is no room for "maybe" in this war. There is no room for "other." There are only two choices, and each of us must choose. You either stand for pure, sweet harmony, or a complete repudiation of an unacceptable eventuality. Which is it? Do we come to a consensus, or do we rage against injustice? Which do you pick? Yes or no?

EDIT: THIS IS NOT REAL. DO NOT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.

4. A tempting choice, but there is no room for temptation.
We are at war, and we must not confuse ourselves with roots and tubers. We have a stark choice in front of us, and I wish you would be mature about it.

35. I wish I could be mature about it - but this is the lounge !
Maybe you should try this thread in GD(Gneral Discussion) or GDP(General Discussion:Politics), you should only get one or two frivolous answers.

Please don't take my light hearted response the wrong way.

5. There is no black and white.....
....in anything in life.

The 'No' should have been before we decided to do an unprovoked attack. Now we have ruined so many lives that 'Yes' or 'No' is no longer an option

6. Ordinarily there is no black and white.
But this is an entirely different situation. This is a choice of affirmation or denial. Yes or no, sir?

26. Either I don't understand the question...
...or one of us is confused. Am I talking about the efforts (I hate to say a war) in Iraq, or am I talking about warfare in general?

Assuming the first, does a yes vote mean we bug out in 20 minutes and a no vote me we stay there for centuries?
Does a yes vote mean the wholesale slaughter of Iraqi citizens at the hands of their warring factions and a no mean the wholesale slaughter at the hands of the US military?

Simple answers to complicated questions is how we got here in the first place - so now that our party has a portion of the power back, lets not fall into the same dangerous, disasterous thought process as the neocons.

Now...if you're talking about putting Bush and company on trial as war criminals for instrumenting an unprovoked attack, and a withdrawl which would incorporate our soldiers being replaced with a multi-national force of peacekeeprs to keep the warring factions apart, then I would be wholly for it.

However, that doesn't fall into a yes or no scenerio, now does it?

Overthinking it. It's not about anything. It's just a yes-or-no question without a question.

Edit: Main post edited to stop confusing people. I'd keep playing along, but I feel kinda bad about wasting so much of y'all's thought and effort.

31. Well, then...I refuse to answer on the grounds....
...that not thinking leads to bad things - like the direction this country has been going for the past twenty-five years or so.

No hard feelings???

30. Thanks, KC2...
...but I have really been around for a while, I just don't post much.

I have a tendency to go to rightwing websites and fight illogic with logic, knee jerk reactions with thought, and misinformation with education.

Might want to check me out at www.justfredradio.com (yes, into shameless self-promotion, too)

I hope that everyone who responded (with anything but "What are you doing?") and voted got that it was a joke. I thought you had too, to be frank. That's why I was so evasive. And for those who didn't get it, I apologize for wasting your time.

How am I stalking? I've never seen you before in my life. I haven't seen you outside this thread ever. Hell, I just got here. I've spent a few days in GD and GDP. I said that because I was assuming you would be returning to the Lounge, because you had to come here from the Lounge, because that is where this thread is. Your leaving this thread heavily implies your entrance into the Lounge, now doesn't it?

Calm down, man. Nobody's stalking you. That would require doing a bit more than replying to the posts you have made in reply to me in a thread I have created, now wouldn't it? Tone down the rhetoric.

And now you DEMAND the same from DUers?
