I bet I'm the only one
with windows '98. Apparently this is some totally alien impossible weird thing. But YES I like the last century. I like it a HELL of a lot. That was before the nightmare that shall not be named (Bush.) And anyway my husband built me my computer, we met in 1998. Is it wrong to be a quasi luddite? I hate technology. NOW I have to upgrade to an IPOD? I just got a CD walkman two years ago. And what was wrong with tapes anyway????? Cheap, that's what was wrong with them. It's very irritating. I miss ALBUMS. I miss the past. The future is so not here.

SO my husband had a drive or something (whatever!) fail on his fancy updated all the time computer. He laughs at me on my windows '98, and the guy at the grocery store that was older than ME and I'm not young that it was amazing to be on Windows '98 STILL. Is it just me?

Don't even talk to me about those NEW TV's. WHY do I need a forty foot TV with widescreen so I can see every damn pimple on Jessica Simpson's ass? Why? (oh my GOD I'm channeling Lewis Black) Sure the picture is better, but is it really a picture show, isn't about I don't know-emotion and the story and the drama? I had a black and white 15 inch TV for years and it was fine! Cheers was a damn good show. It didn't need to be WIDE.

So I guess I have to upgrade soon or something. Damn.

1. Why you would subject yourself willingly to Windows 98 I have no idea, but hey, your choice.

5. I still run my Macs on System 9. It's better for my workflow. And when the last of the Macs
that can run System 9 die (I have three new-in-the-box ones in a closet for when the current ones die), I'm going to stop doing what I do for a living.

You're not alone.

8. I have a few Windows 98 machines around.
The machine I'm writing this on runs ubuntu.

Ubuntu is a little too heavy to run on older machines that will run Windows 98 just fine.

My kids think I'm a freak. Sure the computers I bought them run XP, but I won't run it on any computer I use.
