Poll question: Your Favorite BLAZING SADDLES actor/role?
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 10:24 PM by bertha katzenengel
In order as given by IMDB.com - listing only the "big" names, because I don't remember the film very well, and I know a lot of Lounge Lizards loved it.

My fave -- and I think she will win the poll -- Madeline Kahn. RIP.

edited because I forgot "quotes" mess things up in titles and polls

1. Loved them all, but...
I voted for Slim Pickens. He had the best line in the movie..."Somebody's got to go back and get a shitload of dimes."

2. No, the best line in the movie was...
Railroad Worker: "...they said you was hung."

Sheriff Bart: "and they were right."

6. "Mongo LIKE Candy"

One of the best lines in the movie i think is;

"A man that drinks like that, he is going to DIE!"

"When?"

21. I voted for Cleavon too!
I thought he would have been the obvious choice.

"Don't anybody move or I'll shoot the niga!"

"Oh, gawd, don't let him shoot me!"

8. Of course you'll have the decency to not tell anyone I spoke to you.
Ne'erdowell applicant: Rustling cattle.

Hedley LaMarr: 'Rustling cattle'? What's so evil about that?!

Ne'erdowell Applicant: Through the Vatican?

Hedley LaMarr: Kinky.

9. I wonder how many takes Harvey ruined
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 10:40 PM by pokerfan
He was never able to complete a sketch on the Carol Burnette Show without busting up. Especially if he was working with Tim Conway. I swear to god, I believe Tim did it intentionally.

Favorite lines that haven't already been mentioned:

"Then one day I hear "Reach for it, mister." I spun around, and there I was standing face to face with a six year old kid. Well, I just laid down my guns and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass."

"I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists."

faded away. What a shame.

19. Oh, dammit. But thank you for the info.
I've tried and tried to watch "Bagdad Cafe," having been to that town more than once, but the theme song is SO irritating that I haven't been able to watch the whole movie.

25. They tried to make a TV show out of the movie. It flopped miserably.
That's what Cleavon Little was in.

Too bad the song is too irritating. It's one of the sweetest movies I've ever seen.
