The Elmer Fudd American Songbook-- huh huh huh huh huh huh |
|
So my gf needed to take a business trip to the Atlanta area this week, and as I am a world champion layabout I was certainly available to come along as navigator, relief driver and silly song sing along with-er. We expanded on Robin Williams' old routine about Elmer Fudd singing Bruce Springsteen's "Fire" (or "Fi-wah"). There being a boatload of songs with either R or L in the title (all the gazillions mentioning love or rock'n'roll, for instance), we had a lot of candidates to work with. "Evergreen" was good, "Proud Mary" was excellent (possibly as a medley with "Rollin'"). "Rock Lobster" was another pretty obvious choice. We had a hell of a lot of fun, the only shortcoming being that after a while you find it hard to sing normally. C'mon! Everybody play!
