How many people will you have over on Thanksgiving.
I will have between 25 and 30, for a outdoor dinner.

Some friends, co-workers, and neighbors, everyone brings something to eat.

I smoke the meat and make the ice tea.

2. So sorry you have to work
To tell you the truth I am not into feeding a big crowd but I have the only place big enough for that many people.

I hope you have a good day.

11. I used to BEG to work
my mother is very old-fashioned, and all the elderly relatives (at 10, I was the only one under 50) came and sat down expectedly, and my mother and I did nothing but run all night. By the time she sat down, the fat guys would be clamoring for seconds (which she'd hop up and get).

I hated doing it, and hated watching her do it, so I used to volunteer at the country club where I worked. Better $100 for waitress work than 0$ for waitress work, the customers were more appreciative, no one yelled at me, and I didn't have to do dishes.

My mom finally got fed up herself, and started putting out dinner buffet-style, so she could sit down to eat with the rest of us. Much better (I still missed the $100)

12. I have worked Thanksgiving in the past.
Where I work now we close down for the week, with pay.

I think that is our bonus.

15. Counting my immediate family of four, we'll have 15 people around our table.
or tableS, as I should say. We'll pull out the extra table from the garage, to seat everyone.

:hi: Have fun, texanwitch! Dining al fresco sounds delightful. Happy Thanksgiving!

26. Nope, we all get to sit at the same table...kids and adults alike.
No segregation in our household!

But our dining room can't fit the tables end to end, though, so we do an L-shape with them, which works better.

It's cozy, but it works. :hi:

20. Zee-Roh. We're going there.
Just down the street and there's gonna be a housefull.
Their daughter & family will be there from Dallas and several of us retired empty nesters.
I believe adult beverages may be consumed.
:toast:
Looking forward to it.
Lots of proven good cooks will be involved.
Lots of proven good eaters, too.
;-)
