8. I have very eclectic taste - I like pretty much everything
Edited on Sat Nov-18-06 12:10 AM by BattyDem
Heavy Metal to Broadway and everything in between! I'm also open to new music and artists that I'm not familar with.

These CDs are in the pile on my desk (which means they've been played within the last week or two):

The Killers - Sam's Town
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell III (AWESOME CD!)
Nickelback - All The Right Reasons
Yanni - Live at the Acropolis
Patty Smyth Greatest Hits
Evanescence - The Open Door
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
Barry Manilow - Greatest Songs of the Sixties
Shinedown - Us and Them
Les Miserables (Broadway Soundtrack)
Bon Jovi - Have a Nice Day
Foo Fighters - Skin And Bones
Clay Aiken - A Thousand Different Ways
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium
Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters
Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge
Shakira - Oral Fixation Vol. 2
There's also a "Totally 80s" CD

Old tunes ... new tunes ... mellow tunes ... rockin' tunes ... dancin' tunes - like I said, it's eclectic, LOL! :P

15. Out of those artists....
I would suggest:

Nirvana - Bleach
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Freakey Styley
Van Halen - Anything with David Lee Roth

or here's an oldie but goodie....

The Pixies...most underrated rock band......EVER!

18. The Pixies ... I haven't heard them in a while.
You're right ... they're very underrated!

I have every Van Halen CD - they're my all-time favorite band! I'm not familiar with the other two albums, so I'm off to iTunes to check them out. :-)

If you know of any bands that are really good, but don't fit my list, feel free to suggest them. That list just happens to be what's on my desk at the moment ... but I've got TONS of CDs with all different types of music. I'm open to anything.

Thanks. :hi:

21. Get some Esquivel for your summer Tiki parties...
Esquivel was known as the King of Space Age Bachelor Music. His orchestrations are kooky...but absolutely brilliant. Used to do the incidental music for the old TV shows like Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie.

As weird as this sounds, I was actually listening to Esquivel today....WITH the Brand New Heavies as I was driving them to the airport. Actually just the guitarist and drummer. And they loved the Esquivel. The guitarist couldn't stop giggling. In his British accent he kept saying, "this is brilliant!".

20. If you like the Killers
you should check out The Bravery. The bands actually have a silly little rivalry going on. You also might like a group called Damone... think Evanescence with an 80s pop metal influence. And yes.... your tastes are eclectic!

38. If you go to the Podcast section -
And look for HBO you'll find it.

I've got them all downloaded and plan on sending the entire season to my dad so he can listen to it on the way to work since he has an hour drive each way. It's GREAT to listen to - and you don't miss much at all by not having video to it. One of the episodes had Barney Frank on it and he gave some republican also on the panel a HUGH! smackdown - repeatedly! :D

Brother Sister in particular...or maybe their new one.

Happy soul music that'll have you skippin' around the house.

On edit:

Here's their myspace and you can hear a little bit of their music for free.

25. I heard Life of Agony a few years ago and I liked them.
I don't know why I never purchased their CD at the time.

About a week ago, a friend of mine told me to pick up Ill Nino's "Best Of" CD, so that's already on my "to buy" list. Of course, you can't go wrong with Sarah Mclachlan or Nirvana - music that will satisfy two totally different moods. I'm not familiar with Sandra Kevioukak and I couldn't find her on iTunes or Google, so if you have a link, please post it. :-)

Thanks. :hi:

23. No problem.
Their album is definitely in my top five of the year. Some members used to be in a screamo band I was into a few years ago called Anatomy Of A Ghost, but I like Portugal way better.

I heard some of her stuff a while ago (on a newsgroup) ... it's really cool! B-) I just did a search ... I didn't realize there were so many CDs available. They're a little pricey, but the music is terrific! Thanks. :hi:

36. Okay, my own iPod Nano is mostly for relaxing on long plane trips, so
I have a lot of classical music on it, as well as all the pieces that my choir performs (assuming I can find recordings).

But I also like ethnic music, and the Putumayo label puts out some great albums, mostly of Latin American and African music.

Update: I once reported losing my iPod, but in fact, it was in an obscure pocket of an obscure tote bag all along. Quite a relief, considering how much they cost.
