9. But not stated in any of the movies. |
(hence Star Trek TNG could come up with "The Drumhead" where a half-Romulan gets booted out just because he's got some Romulan blood and the dude lied to get into the academy and not break continuity... )

21. Yes, the Romulans were Vulcans who left Vulcan... |
...and colonized Romulus when Vulcan society decided to embrace logic and purge emotions. The Romulans embrace emotion and passion, which is why they are more warlike and impulsive than their Vulcan cousins.

17. A lot of people dislike fat people |
(never checked their political status though)
Obese people have to fight a lot of discrimination just walking down the street!

18. Very much the worst ever. |
She was so embarrassed that she had to be in that movie! She wouldn't be in the next one and has denied all involvement in Star Trek. Pretension has always defined her.

22. My impression was that that movie made her a star |
after that she was on Cheers and wanted too much money to be in the next one. The elevator scene where she lets her hair down - OH. MY. GOD. I was slain. Completely slain. She became my favorite Vulcan at that point. Plus that scene at the end where Kirk speaks at Spock's funeral and says Spock was the most human, and Saavik rolls her eyes, like 'is it necessary to insult the guy at his own funeral?' hi-frigging-larious. To me, she was the highlight of a movie I did not particularly care for. It was a letdown when she was replaced in the 3rd movie.

23. I have no respect for actors that trash the films that they've been in. |
Susan Sarandon has always defended everything she has ever been in. She took the money, she defends the work. But then again, Susan Sarandon, Kristie Alley, apples and kudzu.

Plus, if she trashes a movie that I don't like, then I am down with that. It's not like she was in Star Trek IV or Back to the Future or something.

25. They definitely wrote her character wrong |
Right at the start of the film, she says "damn!" And through the rest of the film she seems bothered by her performance in the Kobayashi Maru test. Not Vulcan behaviour at all.
