song in the head... and I can't remember who sang it... just the refrain
somewhere in the mid to late 1970s... I think...

I think the end of the chorus is "I've been hypnotized"

Lyrics - if I recall has the singer slinking around corners in some exotic locale conjouring up the image of humphrey bogart in a movie.

Does this ring a bell to anyone? Can anyone help me think of the song - and the artist - tried google with only that - and pulled up Hendrix and Striesand... neither are the artist of the song running in my head...

3. or Laura Mars eyes?
LOVE THEME FROM EYES OF LAURA MARS
Barbra Streisand

I've never been alone
But you're the only one I'd trust
To show me the way
I always hear your voice
And in my dreams I hear you calling my name
What is it about you
Some kind of light shines from your face
And I can't turn away

I'm like a prisoner captured by your eyes
I've been taken, taken by surprise
I'm like a prisoner captured by your eyes
I've been taken, and I've been hypnotized

Your eyes say everything
You want to keep me here forever
I can't escape
One minute's so sincere
Then you completely turn against me
And I'm afraid
You don't have to say you love me
If you want me I'll stay
'Cause I can't turn away

I'm like a prisoner captured by your eyes
I've been taken, taken by surprise
I'm like a prisoner captured by your eyes
I've been taken and I've been hypnotized

17. I really like the "Bare Trees" version of that song better than the remake
Sentimental Lady...thought it sounded better more acoustic.

18. I was wrong
just looked at his list of songs from the seventies - what I am looking for (now I can't remember that name either) is missing. Maybe what was kicking in the back of the mind was Ebony Eyes.

Generally my memory is pretty good in these areas - but I seem to missing the boat this afternoon.

on edit: It was a male singer? Because Natalie Merchant had a line in the song Carnival...

have I been blind
have I been lost
inside myself and
my own mind
hypnotized
mesmerized
by what my eyes have seen?

but it was from the 90's

34. originally... on another thread
someone was quoting letterman as "Ive been hypnotized" or something along those lines... so thus was planted "Seemslikeadream"... the conversation on the thread stuck a few more tunes or more exactly that tip of the tongue - but stuck in the head syndrome of artists and songs.

6. the Fleetwood Mac song ???
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 05:36 PM by nostamj
HYPNOTIZED

It's the same kind of story
That seems to come down from long ago
Two friends having coffee together
When something flies by their window
It might be out on that lawn
Which is wide, at least half of a playing field
Because there's no explaining what your imagination
Can make you see and feel

Seems like a dream
(They) got me hypnotized

Now it's not a meaningless question
To ask if they've been and gone
I remember a talk about North
Carolina and a strange, strange pond

see the sides were like glass
In the thick of a forest without a road
And if any man's ever made that land
Then I think it would've showed

Seems like a dream
(They) got me hypnotized

They say there's a place down in Mexico
Where a man can fly over mountains and hills
And he don't need an airplane or some kind of engine
And he never will
Now you know it's a meaningless question
To ask if those stories are right
'Cause what matters most if the feeling
You get when you're hypnotized

Seems like a dream
(They) got me hypnotized

War without tears. I've thought about that one alot lately and I also have to mention San Jacinto.

We will walk - on the land
We will breathe - of the air
We will drink - from the stream
We will live - hold the line

9. Or Hendix, Gypsy Eyes? (Nah, wrong time frame)
From the Electric Ladyland album

Well I realize that I've been hypnotized, I love your gypsy eyes
I love your gypsy eyes
Alright!

Hey!
Gypsy.

Way up in my tree I'm sitting by my fire
Wond'rin' where in this world might you be
And knowin' all the time you're still roamin' in the country side
Do you still think about me?
Oh my gypsy.

Well I walked right on to your rebel roadside
The one that rambles on for a million miles
Yes I walk down this road searchin' for your love and ah my soul too
But when I find ya I ain't gonna let go.

I remember the first time I saw you
The tears in your eyes look like they're tryin' to say
Oh little boy you know I could love you
But first I must make my get away
Two strange men fightin' to the death over me today
I'll try to meet cha by the old highway.
Hey!

Well I realize that I've been hypnotized, I love your gypsy eyes
I love your gypsy eyes
I love your gypsy eyes
I love your gypsy eyes
Alright!

I've been searchin' so long my feet have made me lose the battle
Down against the road my weary knees they got me
Off to the side I fall but I hear a sweet call
My gypsy eyes is comin' and I've been saved.

Oh I've been saved
That's why I love you uh
Said I love you
Hey!
Love you uh
Lord I love you
Hey!

39. Google is your friend!!
I burn alot of cd's for a friend, sometimes she only knows a few words of a lyric. All you have to do is put those words in quotation marks and follow with "lyrics." Et voila!!

ie: "I've been hypnotized" lyrics
